BZU students deprived of laptops despite being on merit

MULTAN (APP) - The students of Communication Studies (week-end classes) Bahauddin Zakariya University expressed concern over the Punjab government’s apathy by ignore them in the provision of laptops despite qualifying eligibility criterion.
There are more than 3,500 students acquiring education in Bahauddin Zakariya University under week-end basis classes. The students namely Raza Anwar, Sajid Qureshi, Fizza Gul, Kamran, Azhar and Atif talking to this agency informed that they had obtained excellent marks in exams and were deserved to be provided laptops under CM Punjab scheme. They stated that a large number of professionals from different departments were upgrading their eudcational skills under the highly popular distance learning programme wherein the students attends classes twice in week (Saturday and Sunday). The Punjab government had offered the facility for students of Evening classes also and ignored the students studying in week-end classes. They informed that there were 400 to 450 students met the merit but they were neglected.
Media Studies have become very important subject now a days in the country and the government should not ignore them, said a student Sajid Qureshi. The students informed that their names were sent for approval but were overlooked by authorities concerned.
The students of Communication Studies demanded Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to consider them for provision of laptops as CM Punjab was scheduled to preside over laptop distribution ceremony in Bahauddin Zakariya University on January 29.
