Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif met the Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz  Sharif at the PM House on Tuesday to discuss the country’s political issues.
Sources said the PM exchanged views with the COAS on matters of national security of the country, future course of action over dialogue, Karachi operation, missing persons and other related issues besides military functioning.
The PM said the decision to launch an offensive in Waziristan would be taken with the consensus of all stakeholders and would be in the best interests of the country.

He said that the plague of terrorism should be eradicated before it eats up our state structure.  He said those who violated the laws of the state were enemies of the country.

The PM added that the unparalleled sacrifices of the Pakistan Army had not been in vain.
The COAS briefed the PM about the border situation and appreciated his efforts regarding all civil and military stakeholders while making decisions that concern the country’s security.

The ruling party members during the parliamentary meeting chaired by the PM put their weight in favour of military action against the Taliban which led to this meeting.
