ISLAMABAD - Pakistan and Moldova held bilateral talks in Chisinau on Monday.
Additional Secretary (Europe), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ayesha Riyaz, led the Pakistan delegation which included Pakistan’s Ambassador to Moldova (resident in Romania), Rab Nawaz Khan, while the Moldovan delegation was headed by Ms Ala Beleavschi, Director General (Bilateral Relations Division) at the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
These were the first-ever bilateral talks held between the two foreign ministries. The two sides reviewed the entire range of bilateral relations and discussed ways to enhance the profile of existing bilateral ties. A draft MoU on bilateral political consultations as well as a draft visa abolition agreement on diplomatic and official passports was presented by the Pakistan side for consideration by the Moldovan side.
The Pakistan delegation also held separate meetings with Iurie Leanca, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the two deputy foreign ministers Natalia Gherman and Andrei Popov.
