Peshawar- Member government committee, Rustam Shah Mohmand says government can take steps to ensure the release of the abducted sons of the former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and late Punjab Governor Salman Taseer. Shah added that the officials will soon be informed of these steps.
Ali Haider Gilani and Shahbaz Taseer were abducted by the Taliban, who have refused to release them.
Rustam Shah Mohmand said it was necessary for another meeting to take place with the Taliban Shura in the next two or three days. He added that the list of prisoners provided by the Taliban is being inspected. Shah reiterated that the government did not have any women or children prisoners affiliated with the Taliban. Rustam Shah termed the first meeting with the Taliban Shura positive and the committee informed them of the government’s stance.
