FAISALABAD
Residents of the city staged a protest here on Samandari Road against long hour power and gas outages on Monday.
According to detail, the enraged protesters started throwing stones on vehicles and nearby buildings to vent off their anger against what they called step-motherly attitude of the government. Meanwhile, a police contingent rushed to the spot and had to fire tear gas shell to disperse the protesters and control the situation. However, no serious damage was reported to any public installation or property during the protest. On the other hand, the protesters said that they had gone sick and tired of long hour power outages and demanded smooth supply of electricity. Later, the protesters dispersed peacefully following the police officials assurance regarding solution to their problem soon.
