KARACHI Two men including former official of Pakistan Army were gunned down in incidents of target killing in different parts of metropolis on Monday. As per details, an ex-army man was gunned down near Mehran Dippo within the remits of Model Colony police station. According to SHO, Javaid Farooqi, the 53-year-old Moh-ammad Bashir son of Nasar Uddin was going to Malir Cantt from Airport road when unidentified men shot him. He said the victim sustained bullet injuries and escaped from the scene, however, when he reached near Mehran Dippo Malir Halt, he fell down from motorcycle, and area people brought him nearest hospital but he succumbed to injuries during treatment. The officer said the victim was retired from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Regiment and hailed from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, now-a-days, he used to work in Khalil Ahmed Nenital Wala Academy as a Assistant Warden and lived in same academy. Police said it was premature to say that he was gunned down over dacoity resistance or personal enmity was behind the incident as the police also recovered a mobile phone and Rs 8,000 from his pocket. Police shifted his body JPMC and later handed over his heirs. However no case was registered till filing the report. In another incident of target killing, an employee of Steel Mills was gunned down near his house in Gulshan Hadeed in the limits of Steel Town police station. SHO Imdad Khawaja said the 28-year-old Zaheer Abbas son of Abdul Rasheed Samoon was going to his office in the Steel Mills, when suddenly an unidentified armed man reached and opened firing on him resultantly he died on the spot, adding that culprit escaped away easily. Police shifted his body Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities. Officer said the deceased was engaged one year ago while his marriage was scheduled after two months. Officer said the according to eyewitness culprit wearing black Shalwar Kameez ambushed him. However the police believed that personal enmity was might be a reason behind the killing. Victim was belongs to Shia Community, he informed. Police handed over his body to his heirs after completing the legal formalities.
