LAHORE - Eidul Fitr is being celebrated in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir today (Tuesday) with religious fervour and zeal.
In some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas Eid was celebrated on Monday. However, at the level of the provincial government Eid is being observed today following announcement of sighting of the Shawal moon by the Ruete Hilal committee.
This time Eidul Fitr has approached when the armed forces of the country are fighting terrorists and about two million people have been displaced due to the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb. They have been shifted to the temporary camps in Khyber PK. The killings of innocent Palestinians at the hand of Zionist forces in Gaza is another painful aspect giving tincture of sadness to this happy occasion.
A very tight security will be maintained outside Eidgahs, masajid, imambargahs and open places on the occasion of Eid prayers. Law enforcement agencies have also been deployed at the public places, parks, and the places where Eid melas are being held.
President Mamnoon Hussain will celebrate Eid in Karachi while Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif who along with his family went to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah is reaching home on the second day of Eid.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif will celebrate Eid with IDPs while Punjab Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar will celebrate Eid in the city and offer Eid prayers at Badshahi Masjid.
Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad and Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah will offer their prayers at a mosque near Bilawal House in Karachi.
Governor Balochistan Sardar Mahtab Khan Abbasi will offer Eid prayers at Governor House. Chief Minister Balochistan, Abdul Malik Baloch and majority of the provincial cabinet members and legislatures celebrated the auspicious occasion in their native towns.
