11 paramilitary men wounded in landmine blasts

QUETTA - At least eleven personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) were injured in two separate landmine blasts in Bolan and Musakhel districts on Thursday.According to sources, the FC personnel were busy in searching vehicles near Mach bridge on National Highway, when a landmine exploded with a huge blast. As a result, five FC officials, identified as Malik Khan, Asif Hussain, Ali Akbar, Noor Alam and Manwar Khan, sustained injuries. Levies Force and personnel of the Frontier Corps, Police and Balochistan Levies rushed and cordoned off the area. The injured were taken to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Quetta. When contacted, FC spokesman Murtaza Baig confirmed the incident.In another incident, six FC personnel were wounded in Behlol Basti area of Musakhel when their vehicle rolled on a landmine that exploded with a huge bang. The injured were immediately moved to a nearby hospital for treatment. No group claimed the responsibility for the attacks till the filing of this report.
