Punjab law minister rejects APC's demands; says they want to do politics on dead bodies

LAHORE-Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashhood rejected the five demands of all-parties conference and accused its participants of indulging in politics over dead bodies.
Addressing a press conference today, Mashood said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had himself regretted over the Model Town incident and that he was committed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
He said that Tahir-ul-Qadri was issuing provocative statements against the government.
"A judicial commission is already holding a transparent inquiry into Model Town incident," Mashhood said. "We should wait for the findings of joint investigation team," he added.
"Power is the only objective of parties which attended Qadri's APC. People of Pakistan will thwart their nefarious designs," he maintained.
The law minister also commended PPP and other opposition parties, which stayed away from the APC.
