‘Govt to take talks to logical conclusion’

ISLAMABAD : Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has categorically stated that dialogue with Taliban will be taken to its logical conclusion.
In an interview with Radio Pakistan Saturday‚ the minister said the decision to hold negotiations was unanimously taken by all the political parties having representation in the parliament. He said some impediments might occur in the way of making this dialogue process fruitful and result oriented.
 Therefore‚ both the parties will have to demonstrate patience and perseverance, he added.
Commenting on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's address to the United Nations General Assembly‚ the minister said the PM forcefully presented Pakistani point of view on different regional and international issues in the world body. He said Pakistan is a very important country and the world powers would have to give credence to Pakistani stance while framing policies for this region.
With regard to the meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh‚ Pervaiz Rashid was confident that this will serve as a milestone and step forward for normalisation of relations between the two neighbouring countries.
