RAWALPINDI - A 20-year-old girl was gang-raped by five volunteers deputed with Gujar Khan police here at Dhoke Chaudrian, sparking outrage in the area, informed sources on Saturday. The police, after filing a rape case, have arrested the five “Qaumi Razakars” who were identified as Ajmal, Khursheed, Umair, Majid and Naseer. Protests rocked the area with people agitating and demanding death penalty for the rapists. The sources said that five volunteers abducted the girl (N), resident of Ward Number 1 of Dhoke Chaudhrian, when she was out from her home for some sort of work. They took her to a rented room and rapped her. “The rapists threw the girl at a deserted place when she got unconscious,” sources said, adding that the girl informed her family about all saga after restoring to conscious.
The father of the girl lodged a complaint with the PS Gujar Khan police which immediately raided and arrested the rapists. Later, the girl was taken to hospital for medical report. The doctors conducted the medical which proved the gang rape. Massive protests rocked Gujar Khan as the news of the rape spread in the area.
Hundreds of people took to streets and staged protests against this brutally demanding justice. Senior officers of the area rushed to the scene and assured the people that strict action would be taken against the rapists, sources said.
