WAH CANTT - A colourful function was held at Nasheman School & College for Special Children with reference to International Disabled Day here on Saturday.
Lt Gen Muhammad Ahsan Mahmood HI(M) Chairman POF Board was the chief guest on this occasions. The chief guest visited various stalls prepared by the special children. Special children sang national songs and presented beautiful tableau show.
Addressing on this occasion, Chairman POF Board remarked that special children expressed their thoughts and feelings by presenting various tableau show in such a way that it realises that these children are really special and their capabilities are not less than others. He stressed upon the administration of the college that the college staff should shoulder their responsibilities with honesty for the progress of the institution by utilising all available resources.
The Chairman POF Board announced Rs 250,000 for recreational visits of the special children of the college and insured that POF administration would provide further fund to the college. He announced a cash prize of Rs 25,000 for each player of this school and college who won gold, silver and bronze medals in Asia Pacific Special Olympic 2013 held in Australia. Earlier Principal Nashmena School in her welcoming remarks said that the objective of celebrating International Disabled Day is to make it realise to the society that special children are the vital part of this society and it is our responsibility to help them out and create opportunity to make them a useful citizens of the society.
