Beware Ramazan Bazaars lack sugar and atta

SIALKOT - As many as nine Sasta Ramazan Bazaars have started functioning in Sialkot district without having sugar and atta (flour) due to which the people have been facing ordeal. The district government officials said that the flour and sugar mills have not yet started their supply to these bazaars for selling these commodities to the people on subsidised rates. Officials were hopeful that the supply of sugar and flour to Sasta Ramazan Bazaars would be started with the beginning of Ramazan. The district administration has established as many as four more such bazaars. Earlier, it had established as many as five Sasta Ramzan Bazaars and 42 fair price shops in all the four Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils for ensuring the sale of quality standard commodities of daily use at subsidized rates to the people, with a sole aim to provide maximum financial relief to the people during the Holy month of Ramazan. According to District Coordination Officer Mujahid Sher Dil, special monitoring teams have also been formulated to check the quality and prices of the daily used commodities. He said that strict action would be taken against the negligent officials, in this regard. Addressing an important meeting of District Price Control Committee Sialkot here, the DCO added that the adulterators, profiteers and black marketers would also be brought to task.
