'Victim of police anger seeks justice

KOT ADDU - The wife of a rickshaw drive alleged that police had implicated her husband in a fake case and she, along with four children, is facing financial problems including hunger at home. Sakina Bibi told the media that Ghulam Shabir was arrested on fake charges of drug some eight months ago. In fact, she elaborated, their rickshaw was stolen from outside their house on May 29, 2010 by one Zafar Rajput. Zafar then demanded Rs60,000 for the return of rickshaw and the Sanwan police refused to register a case against the accused. Later, she observed, her husband got orders from an additional district and sessions judge to get an FIR registered, which irritated the police officials. Afterwards, the police arrested one Kalsoom and recovered one bottle of liquir and registered a case under section 4-4-79 and then implicated Ghulam Shabir in the case, she alleged. She added that the police also registered another case of charas against her husband. She appealed to the Punjab chief minister and IGP t launch an enquiry into the matter.
