Outages-hit citizens throw traffic out of gear

NOORPUR THAL  - Unscheduled loadshedding is getting prolonged with each passing day in Thal, In protest against power outages, the resident of Noorpur Thal and adjoining localities led by PTI Tehsil President Malik Shafqat Hussain Gujar blocked Kasmir Chowk for one hour and demanded the officials concerned to register their complaints against the unscheduled loadshedding. The residents staged a sit-in on the road and shouted slogans against the government for its failure. Talking to the media on the occasion, the protesters leaders said that routine life of people had badly been disturbed by prolonged power outages which caused water shortage in Thal in the face of increasing temperature.
VTI AWARDS CEREMONY: Vocational Training Institute Principal Malik Iltaf Hussain Rahdari has said that the government and the private sector is making a concerted effort to introduce professional education and skill development for youth to reduce unemployment as well as to make the youth capable enough to support themselves and their families.
He was addressing “the certification awards ceremony” at the institution. On the occasion, he lauded the best efforts of the teaching staff of the VTI.
APPEAL: Former Nazim Union Council Adhi Kot, Malik Ghulam Hasan Saleh has said that due to over flooded Chashma-Jhelum Link Canal, several hundred square kilometre desert area of Tehsil Noorpoor Thal has been inundated, creating severe life and property risk to thousands of inhabitants of the villages Chan, Ghunghan, Adhi Kot, Rahdari, Rangpur, Wahadhlanwala and nearby Chaks.
Talking to journalists, he said that CJ-link canal has already been waterlogged, for the last 26 years. This seepage has played havoc with the lives of the people of the Thal. Malik Ghulam Hasan said that the affected farmers demanded a special relief package from the government. He also emphasized on the Parliamentarians to play their role to solve the burning issue of the people of Thal.
