MARDAN - Former federal minister and senior ANP leader Senator Mohammad Azam Khan Hoti has decided to quit the party, while his son former chief minister Ameer Hadier Khan Hoti has announced to support Asfandyar Wali following the differences between his father Azam Hoti and uncle Asfand, sources said on Sunday.
“Azam Hoti has decided to quit ANP,” said that sources adding he will announce his decision at a press conference today. They further said that party’s senior leaders held negotiations with Azam Hoti to resolve their differences, however, it failed to deliver. The sources added that Hoti has a strong hold on the party in Mardan, Swabi, Buner, Swat and upper areas. They added that Asfandyar hasn’t visited these areas and he has no coordination with the party workers of these areas. They further said that if Hoti quits the party it will incur major loss to the party, adding he might join PML-N. While on the other hand, Ameer Hadier Hoti has announced to support his uncle Asfandyar Wali in the current situation. In a statement issued here, Hadier Hoti said that Asfandyar is the party leader and he will support him. He strongly condemned the statements of his father Azam Hoti and said that Asfandyar is the leader of Pakhtun Qaumi Movement and we will continue this struggle under Asfandyar.
