PM for better health facilities at relief camps

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has directed the Ministry of Health to provide better health facilities at the relief camps by ensuring availability of medicines in flood-hit areas of the country. According to details, Prime Minister Gilani visited National Health Emergency Response Centre at PIMS here on Monday and while talking to media persons informed that medical teams from 16 countries across the world had been working in flood-affected areas and flood relief hospitals. The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Health to provide better and improved health facilities in flood relief camps by ensuring availability of medicines to eradicate eruption of epidemics in the flood affected areas. He also directed to ensure fair and transparent distribution of funds between the Federal Govt and provinces to provide flood relief assistance to the affected people of the flooded areas across the country. The Prime Minister also informed the media that lady health workers would also be sent in the flooded areas and flood relief camps to provide medical assistance for the pregnant women in the relief camps.
