HAFIZABAD - Sasta Ramzan Bazaars would start functioning in Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattian, Jalalpur Bhattian, Vanike Tarar from Sunday (today), and the Traders Associations have assured the local administration that they would make available all essential items at the Bazaars on no profit no loss basis, to facilitate the fasting Muslims. In addition, sugar would be made available at the Bazaars at Rs68 per kg, DCO said here. He said that three tons sugar daily would be supplied these Bazaars for providing relief to the fasting people. Besides, market Committee, the Agriculture Department would also set up fair price shops and green channel. The Market Committee would make arrangements for the provision of all vegetables, fruits and dates at cheaper rates. Regulatory committees have also been formed consisting of officials and local citizens to monitor the sales at the Ramazan Bazaars. DCO Muhammad Asif also visited the sites to review the arrangements being made to establish Ramazan Bazaars here on Saturday. FOUR FAIR PRICE SHOPS: As many as 300 fair price shops would be established across the Punjab by the respective Market Committees. The Punjab government would provide Rs60 million subsidy for ensuring availability of vegetables particularly tomatoes, onion, potatoes, banana, dates at subsidized rates at the fair price shops. The market Committees in the district would set up four fair price shops each in Vanike Tarar, Hafizabad, Jalalpur Bhattian and Pindi Bhattian. The inhabitants of Sukheki and Kaleke appealed to the district authorities to set up fair price shops in their towns also.
