ISLAMABAD - Filing the e-form available on FBRs website for easy payment of taxes is not that easy, as it often disappears from the screen after being half filled, a number of taxpayers complained.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), issuing a final call for registration of taxpayers, advertised a link to the e-form for the purpose, aimed to save people from standing in long queues and wastage of time. However, a number of tax payers, while talking to TheNation, complained that the said e-form was not only quite difficult to fill in one sitting but also vanished from the screen after been half filled.
I had just put up information on two portions of the form and moved to the next, and the form disappeared said a businessman on condition of anonymity. He said that he was already facing difficulty in filling the said e-form and became disappointed when the form disappeared. There are many taxpayers who were of the view that the computerised system is full of flaws and smooth filling of the form is a difficult task as sometimes the form page available on FBR website vanished from the screen during its filling and in this way, the practice wasted time of the applicants.
When the concerned FBR official was contacted, he said there was no problem with the e-form but users often moved to the next page without saving information entered on previous pages. He said that users have to click on 'Save and Registering tab after filling the first two portions of the form, namely 'Registry and 'Representative. He further said that the FBR had also advertised a toll free help line to assist taxpayers filling the e-form.
