Issues hampering Pak-Iran trade to be resolved

ISLAMABAD - Iranian Ambassador Mashaallah Shakeri Friday said that Pakistan and Iran were agreed to address and resolve all the issues, which were hampering the trade between the two countries.
The ambassador said this while talking to Federal Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim here at the latters office. He said Iran offered assistance to Pakistan in power sector.
Shakeri stated that Pakistani mango was also gaining ground in the Iranian market after kinno (orange).
Later, the Ambassadors of Kenya and Romania also called on the minister.
While talking to the Ambassador of Kenya Mishi Masika Mwatsashu, the minister expressed that both Kenya and Pakistan should explore more areas to expand the existing volume of trade between the two countries.
The ambassador appreciated the efforts being made by Pakistan to organise exhibitions and trade fairs in Kenya.
It was proposed that Pakistan could learn from Kenyan expertise about producing flowers, which was a big source of income for Kenya. Pakistan has a fertile land that is suitable for producing flowers and Kenyan experience in this field would help a lot and Pakistan can earn a handsome amount of foreign reserves through export of flowers.
The Ambassador showed interest in importing pharmaceuticals and surgical instruments from Pakistan.
Pakistan imports tea from Kenya that constitutes 55 per cent of the total consumption of the product in Pakistan and exports rice there.
The Ambassador of Romania also called on the minister and formally invited him on the behalf of his Romanian minister of commerce to visit Romania.
