Modest volume keeps market flat ahead of Eid holidays

LAHORE - The last day of business activity on Friday, volume again remained modest and business activities in KSE remained unimpressive, dull and flat throughout the day and kept limited and dry ahead of Eid holidays while modest trading put the market survival hopes dashed whereas benchmark KSE 100-index witnessing no change closed at 9,187.10 points
The market capitalization was eroded by Rs 466 million to Rs 2.817 trillion.
According to Chairman SCEP Raizur Rehman, it has been decided to remove floor mechanism from KSE while measures are being taken to control the risk of the market.
Analysts and brokers are of the view that trading volume dipped again on lack of interest among investors ahead of Eid holidays
Haydery Construct was remained leader volumewise on Friday trading while in KSE business, four scrips recorded gains, four sustained losses and five remained unchanged out of a total of only 13 companies.
Hayder Construction scrip led the market with a turnover of 10,000 shares.
Hayder Construction scrip remained unchanged closed at Rs 1.03 followed by Mian Textile which also remained unchanged closed at Rs 1.39 with volume of 6,000 shares. While Gharibwal Cement gained value of Re 0.29 closed at Rs 17.50 with volume of 6,000 shares. Bal Glass also remained unchanged close at Rs 3.90 with volume of 5,000 shares traded. Saritow Sp which led the market volumewise Thursdsy gained Re 0.30 closed at Rs 1.36 with volume of 4,500 shares. National Assets and Pak Com Leas lost their values though meagrely of Re 0.03 and Re 0.01 closed at Re 0.40 and Re 0.56 respectively with volumes of 2,000 shares each. Sitara Energy Ltd also gained Re 0.14 closed at Rs 20.49 with volume of 2,000 shares while Southern Electric retained its value closed at Rs 3.60 with volume of 2,000 shares traded. Chashma Sugar, however, dipped down and lost its value of Re 1.00 closed at Rs 5.70 with volume of 1,500 shares. While Al-Noor Mod gained its value of Re 0.25 closed at Rs 3.75 with volume of 500 shares. Fauji Fertilizer remained unchanged closed at Rs 96.00 with volume of 100 shares where as Pak Datacom Ltd was the scrip which lost maximum value Friday of Rs 2.19 closed at Rs 49.16 with volume of 100 shares.
Meanwhile, the KSE-30 index dipped down and lost 3.71 points and closed at 9955.10 points while KMI-30 index with no change closed at 11224.18 points.
While, Lahore Stock market remained unchanged as LSE-25 index closed at 2825.36 points. NISL scrip remained unchanged closed at Rs 2.13 with volume of 5,000 shares traded on Friday while no scrip recorded gain, no one losses and three remained unchanged out of a total of 82 companies. The turnover of LSE-25 on Thursday witness an downward trend and 5,000 shares were traded as compared to 9,000 shares traded on Thursday.
Share prices at Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) remained stable here where the ISE-10 index close at 1998.14 without witnessing any change. A total of 11,948 shares were traded in the market, which were up by 2,327 shares when compared with previous day's trading of 9,621 shares.
Out of 8, share prices of 1 companies registered increase, share prices of 3 companies registered decreased while that of 4 companies remained stable. Prices of Saritoli Spinning increased by Rs.0.30 per share while that of Pak Datacom Ltd decreased by Rs.2.19 per share. Shafa International Hospital, Javed Omer Vohara and Fauji Cement Company remained the top trading companies in Friday's trading with 7,000, 2,393 and 2,000 shares respectively.
