Published: February 10, 2010

ISLAMABAD - To give final shape to the protest march, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Auditors and Senior Auditors Association has called the emergency meeting of the Central Executive Committee in federal capital on Feb 10.
To record their concern over non-acceptance of their demands, that FBR auditors and senior auditors were already observing pen-down strike in the country, said Central President of the Association Malik Mohammad Afzal.
He said that since September 2009 the authorities were keeping them on promises regarding the promotions of auditors and senior auditors as well as improvement in their service structure but nothing concrete has transpired so far.
He further said that the auditors and senior auditors were waiting for past 14 years to get promotions and revision in the overall service structure but the apathy on part of authorities had sent a wave of despondency among them.
Malik Mohammad Afzal said that Chairman FBR had sent the summary of up gradation of auditors and senior auditors to Ministry of Finance and Establishment Division on Sep 7, 2009 but the indifference on part of Establishment had forced them to go for the extreme step. He made it loud and clear that till the acceptance of their demands the auditors and senior auditors would not resume their official duty and the strike would continue.
He further said that in today meeting of Central Executive Committee the future line of action would be drawn and plan regarding protest march would be finalised.
