KARACHI - President KCCI Abdul Majid Haji, in a press statement issued here on Saturday lauded the efforts of CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and Advisor to CM Sindh on Investment, M Zubair Motiwala, for signing two agreements under public private partnership viz Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas Dual Carriage Highway and Thar Coal Energy Project.
President KCCI, Abdul Majid, focused that both ventures hold significance and will prove as a milestone for prosperity and development of Sindh and Pakistan. The Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas Dual Carriage Highway would reduce the travelling time between two cities and benefit the commuters, business travellers and the residents of the areas. Commodities would be swiftly transported between the two cities and to other destinations, he added.
President-KCCI, Abdul Majid, commenting on the Thar Coal Energy Project voiced that the said project was neglected since the inception of Pakistan. He paid tribute to the CM Sindh and Zubair Motiwala for taking personal interest in the said project and taking prompt measures, under public private partnership, to motivate the famous international consortium and signing the agreement to execute the long-awaited project.
Majid articulated that the execution of Thar Coal Energy Project has brought sigh of relief and it will control and curtail the energy crisis in Pakistan and alongside will provide cheaper energy as compared to the contemporary energy solutions available in Pakistan. He congratulated the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah for prioritising the Thar Coal Energy Project and declaring it the energy corridor for Pakistan and the region.
Majid on behalf of KCCI also expressed his gratitude to the Advisor to CM on Investment, Zubair Motiwala, for extending full cooperation and assistance from Sindh Board of Investment to the local and foreign investors.
