KARACHI - The Staff Union of MCB Bank Limited (CBA) has categorically denied its association with the Shaheed Usman Ghani Group on account of its continual involvement in the violent and illegal activities against the MCB Bank.
MCB Staff Union of Pakistan President Rayafat Khan Jadoon, while speaking at the press conference held at Karachi Press Club premises here on Tuesday, said that the alleged group had been troubling the MCB banks workers, customers and management for the last year continually without creating any pause.
He said the Saeed Ghani and companys anti-MCB Bank campaign is ridiculous and based on unfair allegations, which are not valid and justifiable so far and in the past as well.
He disclosed that most of the people, including the leader of the said group, Usman Ghani, had left the bank some years ago voluntarily under the golden hand shack scheme, while some of the people had been terminated from the bank due to their irresponsible behaviour and being involved in the activities, which were against the bank at all.
He alleged the Usman Ghani group is being used by those unhidden hands, which are not the well wishers of the bank and its customers.
He further said instead of not belonging to the bank being its current employees, the said group is forcibly extorting money from the different branches of the bank. They are also threatening MCB branches managers and other concerned officers by forcing them not to fulfil their work responsibilities dedicatedly.
Moreover, Muhammad Khan, Secretary General MCB Staff Union, pointed out that with an intention to bring the actual situation into the notice of banking apex authority, some of the customers of MCB Bank have sent applications to the SBP Governor; demanding to take apriority action in this regard.
The management of MCB has also apologized from its customers through public announcements, published in the countrys newspaper for the inconvenience faced by the customers due to their awful behaviour, he added.
Banks employees, customers and management are the worst victims of their ongoing illegal and violent activities, said Khan, adding that the group had established a protest camp at I I Chundrigar Road, despite the imposition of 144 on the gathering of a people at a place.
He appealed the MCB workers not to become the part of such conspiracies against banks interest and damaging its reputation among customers and other competitors as such people wants to derail economic growth and prosperity.
He said that MCB has a legally elected CBA. The bank has recently negotiated a 'Charter of Demand with the said declared CBA in the year 2009; and a healthy salary increment of 24pc was given by the bank to the employees.
It may also be recalled that the said group is not the elected Collective Bargaining Agent (CBA) of MCB Bank Ltd as misrepresented by them in their pamphlets and statements. 'MCB Workers Union is the legal CBA as it is recognized by the NIRC.
