MD PIA for negotiation

ISLAMABAD (APP) - PALPA should come forward and hold negotiations with the management of PIA as dialogue is the only way to resolve issues, MD PIA Captain Ejaz Haroon said Saturday.
In an interview with PTV news he said strikes are not a proper way to resolve issues. Eventually, issues would have to be resolved by sitting across the table and holding negotiations. PALPA should come and hold negotiations with the management. PALPA would be given sympathetic hearing. PALPA for negotiated settlement of issues. But PALPA has resorted to intimidation which is not acceptable, he added. He said there was not much problem owing to the partial strike of pilots and the system was running - off course there were some delays and cancellations of flight.
A lot of pilots are with the management and cooperating. However PALPA was browbeating and intimidating the pilots, who are ready to perform their duties, he added. Regarding the demands of pilots, he said the PALPA was adamant, saying that their salaries should be enhanced by 35pc first, and then any dialogue could be held, which is unfair. During the era of Tariq Kirmani, an additional raise upto Rs 600m were given to the pilots.
