Confidence of businessmen to be restored in Punjab

LAHORE - Punjab Excise & Taxation, Transport and Education Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman has said that due to the best trade and industrial discipline of the government, the country has been put on the road to progress and prosperity, however, all segment of society should perform their social responsibility for the peaceful atmosphere and complete elimination of terrorism.
He expressed these views while inaugurating KATECH 09 exhibition organised by Aya International at Lahore Chambers of Commerce & Industries, here on Friday.
He said that the confidence of industrialists and investors would be restored at every cost and instructions have been issued to tax collectors not to harass traders.
He said that industry is the backbone of the economy and the government would, provide maximum facilities and incentives to industrial sector within its resources.
He said that the present government is taking solid measures to restore the confidence of industrialists and investors to improve the economic indicators.
He said that for this purpose contacts between investors and government departments have been strengthened on priority basis.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is well-aware of the modern-day requirements, therefore, the Punjab government has making all out efforts to attract foreign investment, he pointed out.
Mian Mujtaba said that the concept of public private partnership has been promoted in the province through good governance and economic cooperation programme between the government and the traders, adding that it would result in flourishing trade activities.
