KARACHI (APP) - Brisk shipping was observed for 3rd consecutive at the Port where four ships scheduled to load, offload containers, cement and chemicals were berthed at Qasim international containers terminal, Multi Purpose terminal and Engro Vopak terminal respectively on Thursday.
Meanwhile six more ships scheduled to load, offload containers, cement and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy remained on higher side at the Port at 91pc on Thursday where a total of nine ships namely C.V NYK Kai, C.V Hanjin Rio Janeiro, M.V Gemini-II, M.V Opal-I, M.V Andinet, M.V She belle, M.T Gas Chern Altide, M.V Yuan Cheng and M.T Aral-C are currently occupying berths to load, offload containers, cement, chemical, Iron ore and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling operation were carried out efficiently at the Port where a cargo volume of 81,633 tones comprising 53,597 tones imports and 28,036 tones exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,060 containers (Boxes) was handled during last 24 hours.
Six ships C.V CMA CGM Quartz, M.T SC Ghuoji, C.V NYK Kai, C.V Hanjin Rio Janeiro, M.V Opal-I and M.T Gas Chem Article sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.
Five ships C.V Maersk Novazzano, C.V MSC Stefania, M.T Sc Liaoning, M.T Chemstar Brave and M.T New Advance carrying containers, palm oil, crude oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT, EVTL and Fotco respectively on Friday while another container ship MSC Magali is due to arrive at Saturday.
