Call to promote agro-based industries
KARACHI - The Business Support Fund (BSF) and the Union of Small and Medium Enterprises highlighted need to promote agro based industries to make it competitive through technological support Saquib Mohyuddin, the newly appointed CEO of BSF requested particulars of requirements of SME industries involved in value addition to examine the areas of support and to determine the scope of up gradation in rice, wheat, maize, pulses, peanuts, vegetables, fruits, flowers, seeds, spices and herbs for increasing production, improving processing and packing and enhancing exports Saquib Mohyuddin said the venture capital fund would support the establishment of projects in the agro based industries on equity participation basis and BSF is planning to set up Entrepreneurs Development Centres for direct contact with the entrepreneurs.
