Petroleum price-hike challenged in IHC

OGRA’s recent increase in petroleum products’ prices has been challenged in Islamabad High Court (IHC).Pakistan People’s Movement chairman, Muhammad Ashfaque Chaudhry in his petition filed in IHC here stated that OGRA has enhanced the prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene as many as six times during the last five months and after the recent raise, petrol price has shot up to Rs86 per litre. The petitioner, therefore, prayed for intervention of the court ordering withdrawal of OGRA’s recent notification for selling the petroleum products at their previous prices.
