LAHORE (PR) - LG Electronics was recognised a total of 14 times by two of the design industry's most prominent competitions-red dot and iF (International Forum) design awards.
LG was awarded the 2009 red dot award for product design in seven categories including 'Best of the Best' for its Bluetooth speaker (MSB-200). Other LG products recognized by red dot include the Secret phone (KF750), 3G Watch phone (GD91O), Universe washer/dryer pair with square doors, microwave oven with wide transparent screen (UD A2), the world's first aluminium body air-conditioner and stylish DVD player (DV4S).
LG's 'Best of the Best' winning product is a stylish and easy-to-use portable speaker with a swivel hinge and free-form design. The unit can be easily connected to music devices such as MP3 players and mobile phones via a Bluetooth wireless connection. With its unique swivelling hinge, this stylish product is fully adjustable to provide optimal usability. Users can twist the stick-like speaker into a variety of positions to either stand up straight on a flat surface or be hung on a wall. In addition, LED lights on the unit blink in a unique rhythm, bringing a visual element to the listening experience.
LG also received Germany's iF design award in seven categories for its trend-setting products such as the 8MP touch-screen Renoir phone (kC91 0), plasma TVs (PS8O and PS7O) and four-door French-door refrigerator (LMX25981).
The red dot design award is one of the largest and most renowned industry competitions in the world. The gala award ceremony will take place on June 29, 2009 at the Aalto-Theatre in Essen, Germany.
All award-winning entries will be exhibited in a special exhibition from June 30 through July 29, 2009, at the red dot design museum in Essen. The museum houses the largest permanent exhibition of contemporary design in the world.
