Stock market moves on both sides of fence
By SALMAN ABDUHOO May 22, 2008 LAHORE - In continuation of the last day trend stock market on Wednesday moved on both sides of the fence but finally closed in plus column.
Daily turnover improved gradually to 175.8 million shares and the KSE 100-index closed just near the level of 14,000-index at 13,975 mark, showing a gain of 71 points.
Dealers said that political situation was improving slowly and government was ready to put a constitutional package in next session of the National Assembly to clip the power of the President. This package will also resolve the judge's issue.
Out of 335 scrips 198 closed in green and 115 in red while 22 closed with out any change in price. Top position in volumes went to PPL with traded volumes of 14.260 million shares and it closed rupees 9.51 up on very strong note.
