KESC signs deal with Abacus and Metro

KARACHI - The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) entered into an agreement with Abacus Consulting and Metro Resources Inc for the implementation of SAP Industry Solution for Utilities at a ceremony held at KESC Head Office.
The implementation work will commence in December this year and will be completed in eleven months by Nov 2010.
Speaking on the occasion, Tabish Gauhar, Managing Director, KESC, said, Implementation of SAP Industry Solution for Utilities will assist KESC in improving effectiveness and efficiency of its billings, business intelligence and customer relationship management functions, enabling the Company to provide high quality and reliable services to the electricity consumers of Karachi.
He further added, 'KESC selected SAP, after a thorough review of all the best business technologies available in the world, due to its proven track record globally in the utilities sector, good fit with functional requirement, alignment with long term IT strategy and superior after sales support by Abacus Consulting.
SAP Industry Solution is the worlds leading Utilities Information Solution used by more than 600 of the worlds leading utilities. He further emphasized that as part of the Companys strategy to modernize its systems by using the best of the breed integrated technology platform, KESC will be able to improve the quality of services to its customers by offering one window operation for all services. Moreover, Asad Ali Khan, President of Abacus Consulting said, We are delighted to be associated with KESC as its SAP Implementation Partner.
