KSE opens with negative column but closes flat

LAHORE - Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) though open with a negative column but the benchmark index remained unchanged and closed at 9,182.88 points on Friday. Only 26 companies traded in the bourse in which four got advance whereas seven companies dipped while rest of the 15 cos remained unchanged. The LSE-25 bench mark dipped down to 0.68 points further.

KSE-100 opened today morning in the negative column and remained under pressure throughout the day.

The turnover at the local bourse stood at 279,600 and the highest trading today was seen in the scrips of Trust Modaraba with a volume of 100,500 shares whose share remained unchanged at Re1.35 followed by United Bank whose volume remained 75,000 closed at Rs 68.25 with no change. 1st Fid Leasing volume was 13,500 closed at Rs 4.15 but it dipped to Re 0.05. While Al-Zamin Leasing shares were exchanged up to 11,500 closed at Rs 2.20 with no change. Zeal Pak and Unicap Mod volumes were remain 10,000 each closed at Re 1.60 and Re 0.40 respectively with witnessing no change in both scrips. While Shifa Int. Hospital and Gharibwal Cement remained in negative column shedding Re 1.08 and Re 0.32 closed at Rs 20.58 and Rs 17.23 with volumes of 7,500 each respectively. Pakistan Cement and Arif Habib Bank remained unchanged closed at Rs 4.90 and Rs 10.85 with volume of 5,000 shares each respectively. However, National Assets gained Re 0.02 closed at Re 0.45 with volume 5,000 shares. Flying Cement remained unchanged closed at Rs 4.32 with volume of 5,000 shares. UDL Mod also gained Re 0.05 closed at Rs 3.10 with volume 4,000 shares. Southern Electric, Sitara Energy, Pak Datacom and Habib ADM Ltd remained in negative columns shedding Re 0.12, Re 0.82, Rs 2.00 and Re 0.01 closed at Rs 3.60, Rs 19.18, Rs 44.50 and Rs 8.77 with volumes of 4,000, 3,500, 3,000 and 2,500 respectively.

BMA Pricnipal gained Re 1.00 closed at Rs 10.00 with a volume of 2,000. Rest of the companies including BO Punjab, NIB Bank, Standard Chart Mod., Bank Al-Falah, KESC, Sui Northern Gas, Pak Refinery and National Food remained unchanged with volumes less than 1,000 shares. Meanwhile, the KSE-30 index also witnessed decline to 4.24 points and closed at at 10,003.99 points and KMI-30 index with no changed closed at 11224.18 points.

Meanwhile, share prices at the Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) remained stable where the ISE-10 index close at 2026.79 without witnessing any change.

A total of 27,354 shares were traded in the market, which were up by 10,020 shares when compared with previous day's trading of 17,334 shares.

Out of 22, the share prices of one company recorded increase, 6 registered decrease while that of 15 cos remained stable. The share prices of UDL Modaraba increased with Rs.0.90 per share, while the share prices of Pak Datacom Limited dipped by Rs.2.00 per share. UBL, OGDCL and Bosicor Pakistan remained the top trading companies in Friday's trading with 5,747, 4,652 and 4,014 shares respectively.

While, Lahore Stock witnessed mixed trend as LSE-25 index also lost 0.68 points to close at 2824.6 points. Total turn over however witnessed increasing trend as it remained 29,200 shares whereas only two companies gained, seven dipped down while 64 scrips remained unchanged.
