Iesco registered 7.6 per cent line losses in last fiscal year

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) received 7,825 million units for distribution out of which 7,232 million units were billed to the customers with 7.6 per cent line losses during the last financial year.
The sources told APP here that the company achieved a reduction of 1.3 per cent distribution losses during the said period as compared to last year figure of 8.9 per cent.
They said that the company has achieved a milestone in its tenth year of operations by reducing the transmission and distribution losses to 10.28 per cent from 12.17 per cent resulting in a saving of millions of rupees during the period.
These losses were the lowest among all power distribution companies operating in the country, they added.
The sources said the companys revenue from sales of power increased from Rs 32.62 billion to Rs 35.4 billion, thus registering an increase of 8.5 per cent in absolute terms. As many as 107,345 new connections were provided to the customers during the said period, they said. They said 815 new villages were also electrified covering a population of over four lacs and enhancing the total number of electrified villages to 4,882 during the said period.
