Government mulls 100pc increase in agri-support price

Nazar Muhammad said that the government was paying special attention towards agricultural research to further increase per hectare crop production by providing agri-inputs like seed, fertilizers and sufficient water for crops to meet the future demands of the country.

He said that development of infrastructure was another factor to promote the agri-based industry in the country as well as to increase agri-exports of the country to make the economy sustainable. About the wheat situation, Gondal told mediamen that a shipment carring about 32 thousand tons of wheat had arrived, while more shipments were scheduled soon.
