ISLAMABAD (APP) - Mobilization of political will at top level was imperative for achieving sustainable economic growth of Pakistan, Kevin Murphy, President and Chief Executive Officer of J E Austom said.
Speaking at a seminar on "Creating value together" was jointly organized by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Pakistan Initiative for Strategic Development and Competitiveness (PISDAC) here Kelvin called for export growth strategy and boosting of entire value chains for enhancing productivity and competitiveness and emphasized the important role of industry for development of the country.
He also highlighted ten factors of focus to achieve sustainable economic growth and prosperity including to gain access to attractive market infrastructure terms, mobilizing investment to explore these markets, building supplying infrastructure, educating high productive people, providing stable political macro-economic and social conditions, and strengthening institutions and making it easy to do business, ensuring modern, efficient financial sector, facilitate technology acquisition and innovations and launching of regional and industrial competitiveness initiatives.
Kevin also called for provision of technical education and skill development of the human capital for prosperity of the country.
J E Austin CEO also stressed the need for facilitating and developing private sector and resolving their problems to achieve the objective of sustainable economic growth and competitiveness.
Murphy provided an overview of framework for building national competitiveness that represents the latest thinking, followed by how PISDAC projects fit into this overall framework.
