More firms opting for Poonch-Rawalakot route

MIRPUR (APP) - Since the cross-LoC trade between occupied Kashmir and Azad Jammu and Kashmir was
going on successfully, rather getting momentum day by day, the Kashmir based business firms have started
giving preference to cross-LoC trade from Poonch-Rawlakot route in Jammu region instead of
Srinagar-Muzaffarabad in the Valley, says a report reaching here Saturday from across the Line of Control.
According to the report, the business firms are showing interest mainly due to the fact that there was no report of
any misunderstanding between the traders dealing on the exchange of trade on the barter system.
Only this week, two new trading companies from Kulgam district in the occupied Kashmir valley conducted trade
with AJK-based firms through Poonch-Rawlakot route supplying tonnes of imli and rajmash to the AJK-based
traders.
Confirming that two new companies from the Indian held Valley joined the cross-LoC trade through
Chakan-Da-Bagh-Taitrinote route this Tuesday and Wednesday, the report said that there was no bar on the
businessmen of entire Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir to carry out trade with their counterparts in Azad
Jammu and Kashmir from either of the two routes Poonch-Rawlakote and Srinagar-Muzaffarabad.
Reports said Business Lines Trading Company, Kulgam conducted trade with Business Lines Trading
Company, Muzaffarabad supplying tonnes of imli. Mehmood Dar, Proprietor of Business Lines, Kulgam and
Zahoor Dar, Proprietor of Business Lines, Muzaffarabad were in blood relation, reports said, adding they were
divided in 1971 when Zahoor Dar migrated to Muzaffarabad Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
Both of them have kept same names of their company and were reported to be dealing in wholesale business of
karyana and other items. Yet another firm from the occupied Kashmir valley conducted
trade with a Muzaffarabad- based company from Poonch-Rawlakote route
on Wednesday, according to the report. M/s SAT Traders, Yaripora, Kulgam, occupied Kashmir, supplied
tonnes of rajmash to Maud Trading Company, Muzaffarabad.
Both the firms of the held Kashmir valley were, however, yet to receive items and the consignments from their
trading partners in AJK.
It couldnt be ascertained as to which items they have asked for from their counterparts at this side of the line of
control. Prior to this, about half a dozen firms from the occupied Kashmir valley had conducted cross-LoC trade
from Poonch-Rawlakote route.
