Gems, jewellery sector needs help
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER August 28, 2008 KARACHI - Federal government promised to raise the volume of export of gems and jewellery up to 1.5 billion by providing facilities from mine to market and to enhance its competitiveness internationally by facilitation, technology up gradation and skill development.
Pakistan is blessed with supreme artisans and craftsmen who create magic with metal and stone. Nearly 170 tons of gold is processed annually in Pakistan, making it the seventh largest consumer of gold in the world.
