ICCI for 10pc GST reduction on electricity, oil, gas and food items

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Thursday called for reducing General Sails Tax (GST) upto 10 per cent on oil, electricity, gas and food items to provide relief to common man.

President ICCI Muhammad Ijaz Abbasi said this while expressing his views on government’s decision to withdraw subsidies. He said that for accelerated growth of economic activities in the country, government should provide more incentives and financing facility to local entrepreneurs and investors. He said by supporting local investors to invest in the country, government will not only promote business and industry, but will also be able to collect more tax revenue.

He said growth in business and acceleration in economic activity will lead to reduction in unemployment and poverty.
