KARACHI- Trade Development Authority of Pakistan is willing to sponsor a Japanese buying mission so that the quality products of Pakistan could be presented to them. At the same, the incentives and facilities offered for investment by the Pakistani government could be highlighted too. This was stated by Syed Mohibullah Shah, Chief Executive of TDAP at a luncheon in his honor by Pakistan Japan Business Forum in Karachi.
Shah further added that both the countries have had diplomatic, trade, and cultural relations since 1952 but Pakistan has not fully benefited from the Japanese experience. He said that Japan is focused on high value goods, excellent designing and packaging, and discerning consumers. Pakistani exports to Japan would ensue into an upgradation of Pakistani products and make Pakistan an island of excellence.
He advocated the need for Pakistani companies to link up with major Japanese trading houses so that their worldwide network could be beneficial.
He said that Japanese companies should seriously consider relocating to Pakistan. He added that Pakistan is well placed to be the entry point to CAS countries, Afghanistan, and Middle East. Shah also said that Pakistan is well-endowed with an immense wealth of minerals, coal, gas, marble, granite, fruits, and a very large pool of human resources. He said that TDAP has chalked out a strategy to tap three areas for future exports. These are agro-based industries, minerals, and human services.
