Regulatory duty not to affect domestic market, says Qamar

August 29, 2008

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Syed Naveed Qamar has said that 15-50 per cent regulatory import duty on 379 luxury items would have no impact on domestic market.

“The regulatory import duty on such items will also help reduce import bill of the country,” he told journalists after inaugurating e-service project of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) here on Friday. He said that regularity duty would not be imposed on items imported from countries having Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Pakistan, including China.
