Govt decides hike in petroleum products

The government has decided to hike the prices of petroleum products in the country from tomorrow (Wednesday), report said. The government has decided to enhance petrol price by Rs 6.20 per litre, diesel by Rs6.94 per litre, HOBC by Rs 8.50 per litre and kerosene oil by Rs7.48 per litre. Federal Advisor for Petroleum Dr. Asim Hussain talking to media here on Tuesday has said that the Carbon Tax will be used to fill the deficit gap in the budget. The ministry has sent a summary to the Prime Minister suggesting increase in the petroleum products prices which will be implemented after the approval, the advisor said.
