Selena Gomez becomes Unicef ambassador
SELENA Gomez has landed her most impressive role to date - shes been officially appointed UNICEFs
youngest ever ambassador.
The Wizards of Waverly Place star, 17, has been chosen to use her voice, recognition and commitment to
childrens issues to fund raise and educate on behalf of the organisation. It is hoped the young actress can
reach out to and engage young people in the global mission to save lives.
Every day 25,000 children die from preventable causes, said Gomez. I stand with UNICEF in the belief that we
can change that number from 25,000 to zero.
I know we can achieve this because every moment, UNICEF is on the ground providing children with the
life-saving assistance needed to ensure zero becomes a reality. Gomez is flying off to Ghana this week on her
first official field-mission as an Ambassador. SS
