Iran criticizes US-India nuclear deal
October 5, 2008 Deputy head of Iran's atomic energy department, Mohammad Saeedi has said the U.S.-Indian nuclear agreement violates the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the official news agency quoted him as saying. Saeedi says nuclear-armed India has not signed the treaty and that transferring nuclear technology to India would undermine it. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice visited India on Saturday to commemorate â€" but not sign â€" the deal. U.S. officials say they will respect the non-proliferation treaty.
