One dead in Bangkok car bombing: police
October 7, 2008 One man died Tuesday when a car bomb exploded in Bangkok near Thailand's parliament building, where thousands of anti-government protesters had clashed with police, a police official said. Police Colonel Somchai Chayklin told a foreign news agency that preliminary investigations suggested that the victim had been thrown from the car "by pressure from a bomb." The victim was first identified as a woman, but Somchai said evidence later revealed it was a man.
