Military leadership wants to lead Pakistan towards moderation, says Rice
June 10, 2008 US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has said the US balanced its
relationship with Pakistan vis-a-vis pursuing security interests and
encouraging democratic development as she saw an unprecedented
opportunity to build lasting relationship with South Asian nation in its return
to democracy. In an article due to appear in the forthcoming issue of Foreign
Affairs, Dr Rice also appreciates the Pakistani people's braving out terrorism
threat and dealing a blow to extremism in February polls.
