Landslide kills 39 in southern India

A landslide triggered by torrential seasonal rains in a hilly region in southern India has killed at least 39 people over the past two days, official said. The landslide demolished nearly 300 tin-roofed mud huts in Ooty and Coonoor region of Tamil Nadu state. The area is nearly 1,120 miles (1,800 kilometers) south of New Delhi.
