Iran will start to produce its first batch of higher enriched uranium "within a few days," but output will remain modest for now, a restricted document produced by the UN's nuclear watchdog said Thursday. International Atomic Energy Agency chief Yukiya Amano wrote in a report to member states that the watchdog's inspectors were informed by authorities in Tehran that "Iran had begun to feed the (LEU) low-enriched uranium into one cascade" of uranium-enriching centrifuges at the plant in Natanz.
