Pakistan not a terrorists safe haven: Qureshi

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan is no more a safe haven for terrorists who are on the run after Islamabads successful military drive, the BBC reported on Friday.
Former head of the UN mission in Afghanistan Kai Eide, who stepped down this month, has said that talks with the Taliban dried up several weeks ago after more than a dozen Taliban were captured in joint US-Pakistan operation.
However, Islamabad has rejected a Eides statement that the arrest of senior Afghan Taliban members in Pakistan may have disrupted talks with UN representatives.
Commenting on Eides remarks, Qureshi said, 'I do not understand why has he given such a statement?.
He said that Taliban Commander Mullah Abdul Ghani brothers name was included in international wanted list of Taliban, and his arrest was a result of a joint operation.
He said that Islamabad was fully cooperating with international forces in war on terror.
'Islamabad has always backed reconciliation process in Afghanistan, he said adding, 'Afghan President Hamid Karzai, during his tour to Pakistan, has raised no objection over Taliban leaders arrest rather he has asked for more help from Islamabad.
To a query, Qureshi said that no process of talks had started yet with Taliban. However, he said that Afghan President was holding a peace Jirga in Kabul and Pakistan was fully cooperating in this regard.
