Rice arrives on surprise visit to Iraq
August 21, 2008 US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived in Baghdad on a surprise visit on Thursday to discuss the future of US forces in Iraq, a foreign news agency said. Rice is expected to meet Iraqi leaders including Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki as well as senior US officials to discuss the status of the military agreement between Washington and Baghdad.
